How to Burn Stomach Fat

If you want to have a lean flat stomach you should speed up your metabolism which can help you burn stomach fat.  You can achieve good results following proper nutrition and workout plan. You may need patience and time especially if you tend to lose the last few pounds in this area of your body. It is often very difficult to burn fat in such areas as the lower abs and "love handles" because they are the most stubborn and exercise-resistant. Due to this some people begin to take dangerous diet pills or do the liposuction. Other people try to use the newest ab devices or do useless sit ups, side bends and leg raises day by day. The most effective program which can help you lose fat in these areas involves proper combination of diet, aerobic training, abdominal exercises and weight training.

burn_stomach_fatIt should be mentioned that you can’t burn fat in specific area of the body. Fat loss happens systemically and it can’t be controlled. If the fat is burnt for energy weight loss will occur in all areas of your body. The first place you wish to put it on will be the last place it comes off. These “stubborn” areas occur because every person has a genetic pattern of fat storage just as we inherit hair color, eye color and other physical features. Women’s stubborn parts of the body are hips, thighs and the waist. Men mostly have troubles with the lower abs and the "love handles." Many people spend a lot of time ad efforts training specific areas of the body thinking that they will be able to burn fat in this part of their body. If you perform abs exercises every day doing numerous repetitions your muscles will be toned and tightened but you can’t burn excess fat. Your abdominals can be great but they are not viewed from the thick layer of fat which covers them.

Cardiovascular workouts can really help you burn excess fat from your midsection. Aerobic training is very beneficial for losing fat in this area.  To burn fat, you need to do walking, jogging, bicycling, elliptical exercise and stair climbing. However, many people give up training very early. During the first 20 -30 minutes of aerobic activity, glycogen (stored carbohydrates) is the crucial source of fuel. If you stop training after 20 minutes this will mean that only half of your workout is done! Such workout will be beneficial for your cardiovascular health but it won’t stimulate weight loss. Until your glycogen stores are depleted you won’t be able to burn extra fat. The best and most effective way to lose fat is to perform aerobic workouts for 30-60 minutes continuously per each session. It is necessary to train 3-4 days a week but you will achieve even greater results if you exercise 5-6 days per week.

However cardio workout is not efficient without right diet plan. The combination of exercise and nutrition give a 100% result. Give the preference to low calorie diet. The amount of calories that you consume shouldn’t exceed the calories that you burn during your workout. The best advice is to divide your calorie consumption into five small meals per day instead of 2 or 3 big meals. This will help you avoid overeating. You should take natural foods, which are low in fat and sugar: 55% of the calories coming from carbohydrates, 30% from protein and 15% from fat.
